THE MAKER & THE PROCESS
Hi, I’m Steve.
I’m a woodworker and software engineer based in Union City. Birch & Elm brings those two sides of my work together: using digital tools to create custom pieces, then shaping the final result through hands-on woodworking and finishing.
My work ranges from dimensional business signs and CNC-carved panels to personalized cutting boards, plaques, and engraved gifts. Some projects start with finished artwork; others begin with a sketch, a reference photo, or an idea we develop together.
I approach each piece around how it will be used, where it will live, and what matters to the person ordering it. That means considering the material, dimensions, lettering, and finish together, whether it’s one meaningful gift or a coordinated order for an organization.
